peaches hairdressers

“Since I was a little girl, I have been styling hair.

With lots of girls in my family and I have enjoyed styling their hair and make up as we all grew up.

When I left school I knew who I wanted to be.

I went straight to college to study hair and beauty, but enjoyed styling hair so much I dropped the beauty and concentrated on the hair-styling.

After having 2 children I was going to give up work too spend more time at home,  but I loved working and wanted to return.

My Dad had encouraged me to get a salon. He told me;  “go for it” – so I did. Which I am really glad about because we are doing well.

Peaches Hairdressers opened at the beginning of October 2016.

My Dad had saw a shop for rent.  If it wasn’t for my Dad, I wouldn’t have done it.

Me, my boyfriend and a friend that works along side us, have put it together from scratch.

I have got a nice clientele base, but I do have to focus on finding clients for the days that are quieter and build  up to a full time base.

The biggest surprise about having my own business has been the costs. Obviously everything costs money.

We have put the salon together with little money and at the moment I am happy with that, I am happy with what I have got. I will earn the money gradually and make the changes I need when I can.

We have a courtyard out the back and I would like to make a place where the clients can chill out in the summer. We have created a nice relaxing place and I want clients to feel comfortable. A chilled and friendly place.

I hadn’t realised how popular this part of Weston is. The people are friendly and all talk to each other.”
